These terms have not yet had a full review by outside counsel. See Security & trust for what that does and doesn't mean in practice.
FirmLync is practice-management software for tax and accounting firms. A firm subscribes to manage its own clients, engagements, documents, and billing, and to give its clients a portal for messaging, document exchange, e-signature, and invoice payment.
You own the client and firm data you put into FirmLync. We store it to provide the service and don't sell it or use it to train models. You can export or delete your data at any time by contacting us.
Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe and can be canceled at any time from Settings, effective at the end of the current billing period. No long-term contract is required. Fees already paid are not refunded for partial billing periods.
Don't use FirmLync to store data you don't have the right to store, or to circumvent the access controls that keep one firm's data separate from another's or one client's data separate from another client's.
Your firm decides what documents to send, what wording to use in engagement letters and other client communications, and which documents to route for e-signature versus handle another way (see § 7 on IRS Form 8879 specifically). FirmLync provides the tools; your firm is responsible for using them in a way that satisfies your own professional, ethical, and legal obligations as a tax/accounting practitioner. We are not a law firm or CPA firm and don't provide legal or tax advice.
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't currently offer a service-level agreement or uptime guarantee. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of FirmLync is limited to the amount your firm paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
FirmLync's e-signature feature does not perform IRS-required identity verification (Knowledge-Based Authentication) for Form 8878/8879 e-file signature authorizations. Don't use it for those specific forms — use a wet signature, in-person signing, or a separate KBA-capable tool instead. See Security & trust for detail.
You can cancel at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates § 4 or § 7, or where required by law, with notice by email where practical. On termination, you can request an export of your firm's data for 30 days before it's deleted.
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be communicated by email to the firm owner.
